Broadband Bonding Service is an optional service for bonding the internet service which enable monthly subscription for BBNA devices to uplink bonding capability for any type of Internet traffic for both http and non-http (downlink bonding at packet granularity and uplink aggregation at session granularity are already built into all BBNA devices that operate in standalone mode and this standalone mode does not require Broadband Bonding Service).
Add any ISP to Broadband Bonding Service will add the uplink for the fast and more reliable Internet connection. Without the BBS service all the BBNA devices will not drive to a traffic uplinks standalone with bonding capability and aggregation mode. BBS will help in all the traffic types includes the session based.
Truffle, Truffle Lite, Portabella are the devices used for Broadband Bonding Service to make the bonding between the internet lines.
Downlink and Uplink Bonding with Broadband Bonding Service - Truffle is a load balancing router with packet level Software Defined WAN aggregation. Truffle bonds Internet access lines for all types of traffic (including encrypted traffic such as VPN) for aggregated downlink and uplink capacity when peered over the Internet with another Truffle located at the headquarter office or data center. For single office setups optional Broadband Bonding Service subscription enables downlink/uplink bonding.
Acceleration - All HTTP downlink sessions are aggregated for faster transfer via the Broadband Bonding WAN aggregation technology. Truffle is a load balancing router with packet granularity aggregation. Even in cases of single HTTP session (an example of such a session is a single file download), all Internet access lines are simultaneously and intelligently combined together to provide a faster data transfer for that single session.
Self Healing WAN for High 9s Network Reliability - In case of Internet access line failures, the Truffle keeps the ongoing sessions alive by making real-time per-packet routing decisions, even for the sessions in progress (in peered mode), without loss of data integrity. Additionally automatic failover protects against failures of one or more WAN link outages. Automated Domain Name Service (ADNS) optimization is used to maximize the utility of all active access lines, with automated email, syslog or SNMP alerts.
Application Armor with Session Keep Alive - When peered to a head-office Truffle Master unit (or when peered with Broadband Bonding Service), the Truffle Master unit (or the BBS Master) monitors and intelligently reacts in realtime to mitigate any performance degradation caused by the WAN links at the branch offices. Managed parameters and network problems include packet loss, latency, jitter, cross-traffic, buffer management, MTU problems, black holes as well as others. In case of packet loss, spike in latency or any other degradation on any of the WAN links at the branch office, the VLL tunnel between Truffle and BBS Master maintains the ongoing IP sessions without loss of performance by shielding the effects of dropped WAN link, lost packets, high latency on any of the links.
Elastic Static IP - A static IP in the cloud is provided as part of the optional Broadband Bonding Service and is mapped onto the Truffle. This means that static IP is available for services and inbound network access even during WAN outages, as long as at least one of the WAN links is up.
Transparent installation – For installing Truffle with Broadband Bonding Service (the optional uplink bonding service), your existing Local Area Network does not require any changes. All the installation and configuration can be handled through Truffle's web-based management interface.
No coordination with ISP - With the Truffle, no new equipment or software is necessary from your Internet Service Provider(s). A user-friendly web-based management interface is provided for quick and easy configuration and system monitoring.
Please see the features of Truffle Lite, Truffle or Portabella for additional features.
1. Let's say I have 4 DSL lines with 6Mbps downlink and 768Kbps uplink speed each, after I install Truffle and activate my optional Internet bonding service (i.e. Broadband Bonding Service) subscription, how fast will I be able to download and upload files?
Truffle will aggregate all of the 4 DSL lines that are connected to the WAN ports even without the optional Broadband Bonding Service. However without the uplink bonding service, aggregation for uplink traffic will be at session granularity. To activate uplink bonding, you will need the optional Internet bonding service. With BBS, your download speed will be 4 x 6Mbps = 24 Mbps and your upload speed will be 4 x 768Kbps = 3 Mbps.
2. Which device do I need with Broadband Bonding Service?
Broadband Bonding Service is an optional uplink bonding service. You don't need it unless you would link the uplink aggregation be at packet granularity. You can use Broadband Bonding Service with any Truffle models or with PortaBella models.
3. Does Broadband Bonding Service enable uplink bonding?
Yes. Broadband Bonding Service is an optional Internet bonding service with uplink bonding technology.
4. Will Broadband Bonding Service bond my VPN connection in and out of the office?
Yes, Broadband Bonding Service will provide the bonded Internet pipe for VPN applications as well as any other Internet protocol. Broadband Bonding Service is compatible with any VPN service.
5. Can I bond my T1 with DSL lines?
Yes.
6. Can I bond together Internet services from different ISPs?
Yes.
7. Will the remote employees be able to access the office server via this bonded Internet pipe?
Yes. The inbound VPN connections to the company service will connect to the remote location via the bonded Internet lines.
8. What happens to my Truffle device if I stop my Broadband Bonding Service subscription?
Truffle will function in the "standalone" mode and will still be able to bond http downlink traffic without the Broadband Bonding Service subscription. But without the subscription non-http and uplink traffic will be load-balanced on a session level.
9. How will I be charged for the Broadband Bonding Service and how can I cancel the service?
The monthly subscription fee will be deducted every month from the credit card you have provided. You can call us at 858.452.1031 or email us at sales@mushroomnetworks.com to cancel your Broadband Bonding Service subscription.
